How to build a raft

Building a raft is a form of experiential pedagogy - experiential learning in all weather conditions. This activity of building a raft and detailed route preparation on a lake, takes place during a multi-day training with 10 participants and one teacher from the secondary target group for experiential learning. In addition to the methodological principles of raft building, the concept of safety is also implemented and the pedagogical objectives are defined in detail to achieve the goal. The content of this training creates an integrative, holistic perspective on learning that combines experience, perception, cognition and behavior and is realized through the practice of experiential education, about innovative options in outdoor areas, new intensive, fun methods that are specifically designed for personal development, self-confidence in order to decrease school dropout and low school attendance.
